Welcome to the Platformer where we talk about games in an extremely amateur but fun way! This post is in regards to my Sleek Design series where I try to fit into my favourite pair of jeans again. This week I had a self reflective moment.

Last week the Earth’s gravitational pull was cranked up a notch or my life was directed by Rober Zemeckis because it was heavy.

I pursued a life in architecture, got my university degree, got a job and accomplished a life long ambition. I moved out of my house (Escape is probably more appropriate)

I was happy, I love design and architecture however there are more to a career than the work itself. Ironically the environment in architecture culture is a giant smokestack with ‘suggested’ overtime. So many pretentious men that they could collectively judge all the graffiti art in the world, negatively obviously, with a lovely hint of underhanded sexism.

These are all the reasons I avoided going into the game industry. However, if I say I love architecture, gaming is my number one passion. When days are hard at work I don’t go home to read about architecture, I turn on my console for the night and get lost in a world of imagination. (If the game is right)

Last week I resorted to stress eating so sleek design had to take a break…one week in. Granted not a great sign but it has motivated me to work on this blog, because you know I have no qualifications in gaming. As this is a self-improvement series I hope one day this silly little blog can let me work in something I’m passionate about.

If this fails, fuck it I like to knit

Quote of the week

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
