Welcome to the Platformer where we talk about games in an extremely amateur but fun way! This post is in regards to my Metroid (me) & Vania (Friend) series where I introduce video games to others! Vania gets introduced to competitive Pokemon Battles.

I have played every single Pokemon game: Red/Blue, Platinum, Sun/Moon, Salt and Pepper. All of them, even the ones I made up. However, I was only introduced to competitive Pokemon in the previous generation with my wonderful douchebag tactic of focus sash and counter combination – a.k.a my instant killer (If I was lucky). Therefore when I found out that my new friend Z was going to get Pokemon Sword, I knew it was time, to make it personal. Also Yay! Finally, a friend that plays Pokemon.

Let me introduce the team:

The first fighter is the beast from the east,
He won’t make you faint, he’ll make you deceased,
With his drum, he’ll bring your doom,
Give a warm welcome to Rillaboom.

The next combatant soars through the skies,
Seamlessly decapitating opponents when he flies,
An experienced cadet ready for a fight,
Lookup and you’ll see Corviknight.

This fish hunts in the deeps of the ocean
He’ll make you use your last potion,
Propelling himself through anything, even the Bermuda
Fear the name Barraskewda.

Do you feel the burn?
Because soon you’ll be in an urn,
He’ll still be fire even as a dead fossil,
He is the mighty Coalossal.

A thing of legend, a dragon fighter
Your pokemon pulverised, bring a lighter
Too late to think oh no
Here comes Kommo-o

The final Pokemon is the Low Key best,
Poisoning minds, electrifying the rest,
Her inclusion is anything but risky,
Please welcome Toxtricity

We had our first battle about an hour into the game, but this was merely toddler’s scrapping in the sandbox. Also, I lost, but she had 30 minutes head start and it was a doubles match. Did I eventually win? Mercilessly, continuously, I named a poke centre wing in her name because her pokemon were there so often.

She said that her team was different, which it was, and we decided to finish it in one last battle! Let me tell you a tale…through song.

Toxtricity was leading the front line,
Z started with a Piloswine,
I was in trouble, got my team in a huddle
Needed someone to step up to the plate
Rillaboom came in and took a hit,
Piloswine left his face in a state
Rillaboom survived despite the crit,
I commanded a drum beating to commence,
Piloswine fainted, victory I could sense!

To burn my grass monkey Z sent out her fire dog,
Arcanine,
Coalossal took the lead and took a flamethrower,
It was fine,
Z realised Arcanine was weak thus unleashed Copperajah,
Steel?
I dinamaxed and took out that Elephant with no sweat,
Steal.

Coalossal then went on a tear,
Mantine was next to faint and I saw Z in despair,
Arcanine came back, hehe welcome to my death lair,
I think I smell burnt dog hair.

Coalossal went back to normal and small
With health low, my pokemon’s survival was a myth
Dragapult was fast I was going to lose my pokemon, not my fault
One tar shot to slow down the dragon before he was done.

Komo-o next which means dragon vs dragon,
But now I was faster, a pokemon master
Leafeon took Komo-o’s last breath, not death

Leafeon was Z’s last pokemon, and with my Corviknight victory was in my… haaaaaaaaaaaaand
One brave bird later Z had no pokemon left to staaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand!

I was gracious in victory obviously….Until now, You Suck!
